In December 2024, Sorouh for Sustainable Development Foundation (SSDF), in partnership with UNHCR, conducted a First Aid Training session for students participating in the Albert Einstein German Academic Refugee Initiative (DAFI) at the University of Duhok. The training was led by three DAFI scholars from the College of Medicine, focusing on skills development and knowledge sharing among participants. A total of 18 DAFI students (11 females and 7 males) took part in the training, strengthening their practical first aid skills while fostering a sense of community and preparedness. To support hands-on learning, each participant received a personal first aid kit. This initiative reflects the commitment of SSDF and UNHCR to empowering 93 DAFI Club students across 19 universities in Iraq, including 40 students in Duhok, 29 in Erbil, 6 in Sulaymaniyah, and 17 in Baghdad. Through the DAFI Scholarship Programme, students are supported in strengthening self-reliance, developing practical skills, and making meaningful contributions to their communities.
