On 14 April 2024, SSDF, in partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), conducted two advocacy meetings in Tuz and Balad districts, Salah Al-Din Governorate, Iraq, engaging 50 participants, with 25 participants in each meeting, representing local service providers and relevant stakeholders. The advocacy meetings aimed to improve access to government services for local communities and families perceived to be affiliated with ISIS, supporting their social reintegration and ensuring they receive the services and assistance to which they are entitled. The meetings brought together key representatives from different sectors, including the Deputy Mayor of Tuz, representatives from the Tuz Municipality, the Women Empowerment Unit, the Department of Social Affairs, the Mental Health Department, the Community Police, and the Migration Department. The discussions provided participants with an important opportunity to address challenges related to accessing government services and contributed to efforts aimed at achieving sustainable change that benefits both the local community and the families concerned.
