صروح للتنمية المستدامة تنفذ حملات توعية حول رفاه الأطفال في 8 مدارس بمحافظة صلاح الدين ضمن أنشطة برنامج PPL، نفذت مؤسسة صروح للتنمية المستدامة (SSDF)، بالشراكة مع منظمة إنقاذ الطفل، حملات توعية حول "رفاه الأطفال" في 8 مدارس بقضائي سامراء وبلد في محافظة صلاح الدين، وذلك خلال الفترة 14–16 كانون الثاني/يناير 2024. وتناولت الحملات عددًا من المحاور، شملت الوصول إلى التعليم الجيد، والرعاية الصحية، والتغذية، والحماية، والمشاركة، إلى جانب أهمية توفير بيئة أسرية ومجتمعية داعمة، وتعزيز العلاقات الإيجابية بين الأقران، وإتاحة فرص اللعب والترفيه. كما أسهمت الحملات في تحقيق الهدف العام لبرنامج PPL، والمتمثل في ضمان توفير تعليم نوعي وبيئة تعليمية إيجابية لجميع الطلبة. واستفاد من هذه الحملات 1208 طالبًا وطالبة، بواقع 790 فتاة و418 فتى. ________________________________________ SSDF Conducts Child Well-being Awareness Campaigns in Eight Schools Across Salah Al-Din As part of the PPL Program, SSDF, in partnership with Save the Children, organized awareness campaigns on "Children's Well-being" in eight schools across Samarra and Balad districts in Salah Al-Din, Iraq, from 14 to 16 January 2024. The campaigns covered key topics including access to quality education, health care, nutrition, protection, and participation, as well as the importance of supportive family and community environments, positive peer relationships, and opportunities for play and recreation. The campaigns also contributed to the overall objective of the PPL Program, which aims to ensure quality education and a positive learning environment for all students. The campaigns reached 1,208 students, including 790 girls and 418 boys.
On 9 June 2024, SSDF, in partnership with Save the Children, held a meeting for Youth Club members at Al Meshahda Child Protection Center in West Mosul, Ninewa Governorate, Iraq. The meeting brought together 15 members, including 5 boys and 10 girls, aged 15 to 18 years. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the implementation of youth initiatives proposed during the previous meeting. The initiatives focused on topics including cyber extortion, violence in society, environmental awareness, gender equality, mental health, and civic education. The meeting was facilitated by two SSDF staff members, who supported participants in reviewing their objectives, assigning responsibilities, identifying challenges and solutions, and concluding with a summary of the action plan.
On 16 January 2024, SSDF, in partnership with Save the Children (SCI), organized a roundtable meeting in Mosul, led by members of the Child Protection Committee (CPC) from Al Mushahda neighborhood. The meeting aimed to address the issue of children without legal identification documents and the risks associated with this challenge. The event brought together 16 participants representing various service providers, including international NGOs, CPC members, local community members from Al Mushahda in West Mosul, and a representative from the Directorate of Civil Status, Passports, and Residence in Ninewa Governorate. Participants discussed the challenges and risks faced by affected families in obtaining personal documentation, including school dropout, limited access to social welfare services, and social stigma. The meeting also explored the underlying causes of these challenges, including limited awareness, financial difficulties, and legal obstacles, particularly in cases where the father was accused. In addition, the meeting presented five cases from Al Mushahda that had experienced these challenges. It also highlighted IRC's intervention in three cases by facilitating judicial procedures, enabling the families to complete their legal documentation and access their rights.
SSDF, in partnership with WHH and funded by BMZ, organized a technical training for Producer Groups (PG) in Samarra, Salah Al-Din, Iraq. The training brought together 20 participants from the Poultry Producers Group and the Small-Scale Farmers Group. The training focused on strengthening business management skills by equipping participants with essential knowledge in production, processing, marketing, and effective business administration. It aimed to help participants increase their income and profitability while enhancing their competitiveness.
On 13–14 December 2023, Sorouh for Sustainable Development Foundation (SSDF) participated in a workshop titled "DANIDA Program Introduction & Proposal Writing Training", organized by Save the Children (SCI) under the DANIDA Program in Erbil, Iraq. The workshop aimed to strengthen the capacities of 20 local NGOs in Iraq by enhancing their proposal development and writing skills. The training was delivered by a New Business Development specialist from SCI, who shared best practices and practical guidance on preparing effective and persuasive proposals for different donors and target audiences. Participants also had the opportunity to apply their learning through practical exercises and feedback sessions. The workshop provided a valuable learning experience for SSDF, helping to strengthen its proposal writing skills and enhance its opportunities to secure funding for future projects.
SSDF, in partnership with Save the Children, held a meeting with 17 participants representing various service providers to discuss the outcomes of community dialogues on child protection risks and Children Associated with Armed Forces and Armed Groups (CAAFAG). The meeting focused on three key issues: Out-of-School Children (OOSC), challenges in obtaining identification documents, and the lack of services for children with special needs. Representatives from four government departments participated in the meeting: Educational Supervision, Caring for People with Special Needs, Social Care, and the Empowerment of Women and Children, alongside representatives from two international NGOs, World Vision and IRC.
A new program bringing quality education to 300 children in Kirkuk governorate
SSDF, in partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), conducted a capacity-building training on community engagement, reintegration, and social acceptance. The training aimed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge related to positive discipline, conflict resolution, and other tools that support their personal development. It also sought to strengthen the reintegration process by enhancing coordination and partnership among key stakeholders in Iraq, particularly in Salah Al-Din Governorate, including Balad and Tuz districts. Nearly 100 participants benefited from the training.
SSDF, in partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), supported a community-based approach through Volunteer Community Committees (VCCs) in Salah Al-Din Governorate, covering Balad and Tuz districts. The VCCs consist of a diverse group of members, including local authorities, community leaders, educators, youth and women representatives, and religious leaders. These committees play a key role in promoting community engagement, influencing community decisions, and fostering peace and reconciliation. By engaging the VCCs, SSDF and IOM aim to promote the sustainable and inclusive reintegration of returnees into their communities.
Members of the Child Protection Committee (CPC) at AlMeshahda Child Protection Center in West Mosul, Ninewa, Iraq, organized community dialogues for 14 participants (5 males and 9 females) on the topic of Children Associated with Armed Forces and Armed Groups (CAAFAG). The activity was implemented under a program carried out by SSDF in partnership with Save the Children, with funding from SIDA. The dialogues aimed to raise awareness and understanding of the situation and the needs of children who have been recruited or used by armed forces and armed groups. They also explored the challenges and opportunities related to the prevention, release, and reintegration of these children, while highlighting the important role of communities in supporting them. The discussions emphasized the importance of providing appropriate rehabilitation and reintegration services as a key step toward building inclusive and peaceful societies. The program involves the participation of children, their families, and their communities, in addition to coordination among different actors and sectors. Psychosocial support is one of the program’s essential components, aiming to promote the emotional, social, and mental well-being of children and their caregivers.
صروح للتنمية المستدامة تختتم المجموعة الأولى من برنامج المهارات الحياتية وتطلق المجموعة الثانية في مركز المشاهدة لحماية الطفل في غرب الموصل اختتمت مؤسسة صروح للتنمية المستدامة بالشراكة مع منظمة إنقاذ الطفل، تنفيذ المجموعة الأولى من برنامج المهارات الحياتية بمشاركة 16 يافعًا تتراوح أعمارهم بين 12–17 عامًا في مركز المشاهدة لحماية الطفل في غرب الموصل بمحافظة نينوى. وفي الوقت نفسه، انطلقت المجموعة الثانية من البرنامج بمشاركة 19 يافعًا، بهدف تزويدهم بالمهارات والمعارف التي تسهم في دعم مستقبلهم. ويساعد برنامج المهارات الحياتية اليافعين على تعزيز ثقتهم بأنفسهم، وتحسين رفاههم، وتمكينهم من التعامل بفاعلية مع تحديات الحياة وفرصها. ________________________________________ SSDF Completes the First Life Skills Program Group and Launches the Second at AlMashahda Child Protection Center in West Mosul SSDF, in partnership with Save the Children, successfully completed the first group of the Life Skills Program with 16 youth participants aged 12–17 at AlMashahda Child Protection Center in West Mosul, Ninewa, Iraq. At the same time, the second group, consisting of 19 youth participants, has started the Life Skills Program to gain valuable skills and knowledge that will support their future. The Life Skills Program helps young people build self-esteem, improve their well-being, and develop the ability to effectively cope with life's challenges and opportunities.
SSDF, in partnership with Save the Children and funded by SIDA, launched the fifth group of Safe Family activities at Al Mushahda Child Protection Center in West Mosul, Iraq, with 18 new participants. The Safe Family program helps families strengthen their relationships, overcome challenges, and recover from trauma, abuse, violence, addiction, divorce, and mental health issues. At the same time, the fourth group, consisting of 12 women caregivers and 13 children (6 boys and 7 girls), continued their Safe Family sessions. The caregivers reached their seventh session, while the children attended their sixth and fifth sessions, respectively. Members of the Child Protection Committee (CPC) also participated in Safe Family awareness sessions organized for visitors to the center.
