• Relieving the Displaced from Anbar in Salah al-Din — Partner: NCCI, in partnership with UNHCR — Grant: USD 10,000 — Duration: 3 May–26 June 2014 — Sector: Emergency — Location: Samarra, Salah al-Din. Overview: The project provided 100 parcels of clothing and toys to the most vulnerable families displaced from Anbar and hosted in Salah al-Din Governorate (Al-Mutassim Village, Al-Muthanna and Al-Shuhada neighborhoods, Al-Ajabiria 1, 2, and 3, and Al-Hweesh Village). The project also conducted two advocacy workshops for 25 women to claim their rights.
• Distribution of 1,000 Dignity Kits for Displaced Women in Samarra — Partner: UNFPA — Grant: Dignity Kits provided by UNHCR — Sector: Humanitarian / Women's Health — Location: Samarra, Iraq (Duration: Finished). Overview: Designed to preserve health, bodily integrity, and personal dignity during emergency displacement, this humanitarian intervention distributed 1,000 tailored dignity kits to internally displaced women and vulnerable girls residing in 8 informal sites in Samarra and IDPs in unfinished buildings. Beyond fulfilling physical hygiene needs, the distribution process served as a vital outreach point for humanitarian teams to assess beneficiary well-being, mitigate risks of gender-based violence (GBV), and connect vulnerable women to broader reproductive health and psychosocial support services in the region.
• Distribution of 5,000 RRM Kits for Returnees in Al-Alam Sub-District — Partner: NRC (Norwegian Refugee Council) — Duration: 21–27 April 2015 — Sector: Humanitarian / Food & Health Assistance — Location: Al-Alam Sub-district, Iraq. Overview: The project distributed 5,000 RRM kits (to 3,327 IDP families) — food, hygiene, and dignity kits — to returnee families who had recently arrived in the Al-Alam sub-district. On 20 April 2015, SSDF received RRM kits from NRC and began coordinating with the local council in Al-Alam. The distribution covered Al-Alam sub-district center, Samrah village, Al-Khuzamiyah village, Al-Rubaidha village, Al-Hawi area, Al-Samad village, Al-Ahad village, Al-Jadeed village, and the Al-Jam'iyah neighborhood.
• Distribution of 1,000 RRM Kits for Displaced Families in Samarra District — Partner: NRC — Grant: Rapid Response Mechanism (RRM) Partnership — Duration: 10–14 June 2015 — Sector: Emergency Relief / Food & Water Assistance — Location: Samarra District, Salah al-Din. Overview: SSDF with NRC distributed 1,000 RRM kits and 2,000 safe drinking water reaching 704 verified internally displaced families, representing 4,465 individuals, across key locations including Al-Mu'tasim and Al-Hardaniyah sub-districts, Ishaqi Island, and the Al-Muthanna, Al-Afraz, and Salah Al-Din neighborhoods. Beneficiaries were verified through cross-checking official identification and Public Distribution System (PDS) records to ensure fair and transparent assistance. Overview: SSDF distributed 45,794 RRM kits — including food boxes, hygiene kits, and dignity kits — to families recently displaced from their places of origin in Salah al-Din and Kirkuk Governorates. RRM kits provide immediate, basic survival items meant to last a family approximately 3 to 7 days, and are distributed directly to newly displaced people fleeing conflict or crises. Managed by a UN consortium led primarily by UNICEF, WFP, and UNFPA alongside SCI partners, these kits are designed to reach vulnerable families within 72 hours of displacement.
